Day Visits/Senior/Puppy Dog Visits

30 minute visit
For Puppies up to 24 weeks (6 months) and senior or less able dogs.

I am very experienced in puppy and senior dog care and fully understand the difficult transitional period from puppy to adult and from adult to senior dog. I also understand that it is hard leaving a puppy for the first time or a senior dog that needs alot of care. These visits are tailored to meet your puppy or senior dogs needs. They are also suited to dogs recovering from or battling illness or mobility issues.

Between the time when you collect your puppy until 12 weeks of age puppies require alot of attention and can be like having a baby in the household. They require feeding several times a day, toilet training, companionship and good socialisation. Puppies minds at this age will soak up anything they encounter like a sponge, this means developing good and bad habits. We as owners should start as we mean to go on as these habits can last your dogs lifetime. In order for your dog to deal with situations well and cope with the big wide world it is up to us to educate ourselves in the way dogs work and what they require of us. I will work with you to give any advice or help where needed with any worries you have.

Once your puppy has had its second vaccination I can start socialising your puppy with sights, sounds, smells, other dogs, people and environments in a controlled manner. I can also continue any training you have started to put in place.

After so many years of loyalty and friendship your dog deserves the best care available. Needs vary tremendously between one dog and the next and one 10 year old can be completely different to the next. However, you will find that with time your dog may regress into almost a puppy like state in the sense that you may eventually be doing everything as you were when your dog was an 8 week old. You will find your dog needs more care in its feeding regime, medication, help with toileting issues, cleaning up after him/her and smaller walks or more mental stimulation. I will do all in my power to help your dog through difficult times and ensure he/she is comfortable in whatever I do with them I will also be able to offer you advice where it is needed.

The puppy/senior dog service includes:
- A short walk for those that can
- Time in the garden for play or relaxing
- Feeding
- Cleaning up after any accidents
- Encouraging house training for puppies
- Administering any medication (as advised by your vet)
- Putting down fresh water
- Socialisation for young dogs

This service is great for those puppies that haven't had their full vaccinations yet and also those that can only have short walks due to their age. This can be a great break for a puppy or older dog when you have to be away for some of the day. It will also mean that your puppy still gets his/her toilet training and elderly dogs get some fresh air and a cuddle.
